Organized Home

One thing that I have been working on to get the house ready for a new little one is getting my house organized and getting rid of all the stuff we have laying around that we may use "one day" when we are 50 years old :)
It can seem a little overwhelming at times. I remember when we bought this house it seemed so big and I thought I would never fill up the space....Well I think we have filled up the space and much more.
I found this site on pinterest. She does such a good job breaking up the house into weekly items so that you don't feel overwhelmed.
I have to double mine just so that I can get done before June but I still don't feel over whelmed at all.
I am surprised at how much room I am making.
Good luck organizing

Kitchen Cabinet to Toy Box

My friend is in construction. They ripped up a kitchen. This is what he brought home.
I think he was kidding when he asked if I wanted it but I sure did.
Don't you think it is pretty? No? well it will be.We did a few coats of black spray paint Then a few coats of polyurethane spray paintI then measured some foam to the length and width of the cabinet and then I covered it with some cute material.. I glued the fabric on with Tacky glue.
Ky wanted to use the left over fabric as a blanketThen I glued the foam/fabric with gorilla glue and then put some weight on it and let it sit for a couple hours.
Then I used the cricut to give me some letters! Then I just applied them on front!I had some remaining fabric and I just glued it inside the cabinet on the bottom.
It is mostly to give the bottom some protection from scratching. But it looks awesome

I got a tub and put the small toys in that then put all the toys in.
I'd say that this turned out great. Kyden likes it too and it serves two purposes. Toy box and bench. Yes, he does have an ice cream mustache!Hope you all like it. Let me know what you think!

DIY: Kid's Memory Book

I have this huge box of cool papers and such from my childhood that I want to keep. Unfortunately they are terribly unorganized and I never look at them. I didn't want that for my kid. I wanted him to be able to look at all the cool papers and things so I made this..
I started before he was born. In the book I have all my ultrasounds. Guesses of what we were having.
His birth certificate, and footprints.
Baby Shower invites
His first hat and measurements
Jaundice goggles, and baby guesses
Appearances in the Paper
His Blessing details.
Doctors measurements. and on most pages I would write just a little bit about what was going on at that time.
It is pretty cool huh? But I must tell you my secret. I takes about a minute per page to do... Seriously. I'm not a huge scrapbooker because it takes so long so here is my quick memory book tutorial.
My sister got me this huge book of cute nursery rhyme paper.
I take a piece of copier paper and then cut some strips of Nursery Rhyme paper and tape it onto the copy paper. However I want.
Then I glue what I want on top. I take a regular ball point pen and write a little something about it. Then I put it in a page protector in his book. That is it. Easy right?
I hope one day Ky will enjoy looking at all this. If not maybe his wife will one day but for now I enjoy looking back at everything that I have kept so far. The birthday cards, letters from his parents on his birthday, and many more things!
Enjoy!

New Shelves & New Decorated Wall

In my kitchen we had this plain wall... see

I decided to do something about it. We got this awesome mirror from a friend, I borrowed a cricut machine and then I made some Faux Metal Decor. I put it all together and this is what I got..My husband and Kid wanted to be in the picture!
Also this last weekend my awesome hubby put some much needed shelves up in our closet under the stairs. As embarrassed as I am to show this to you, you need to understand how much of a difference they make... Before

After, Ky likes the space too.
Pretty nice huh?
