Re-do:bookcase

I finally took care of this....After some spray paint and smoothing here it is.If you haven't noticed... I like black.I love how it turned out!

Help! Painting furniture

I have had this cheap little bookcase for a long time and it just doesn't match...

I want to paint it black but I'm not sure how to go about it. Have you seen these?
Does anyone know what kind of paint will work good? I want to do it black! Thanks so much!
