T-Shirt Quilt

I feel like I have been working on this forever. (Probably because I have) It took forever because I just kind of went at it without a pattern.
When I cut the shirts I just cut around the things I wanted so they weren't measured. My mom would've been mortified if she had watched me do this. She is such a perfectionist and that is why all her stuff turns out wonderful. After cutting out the shirts I back it with black material.
Then I sewed it together. I did the stitch on the outside then cut them so they would fray.
I am giving this to my husband as a graduation present. He graduates with his Master's this weekend! Congrats!

could you give me a little bit more directions on how you did this. I am working on one for my son who will be graduating soon and I have cut out the fronts of the shirts of all his baseball shirts since he played tball so they are all different sides and I was trying to figure out how to finish this. Did you sew each shirt to black material or did you lay them out on one piece of blace material? Also I love the fraying what did you sew them with? Thanks Jenny P
