I finally took care of this....
After some spray paint and smoothing here it is.
If you haven't noticed... I like black.I love how it turned out!

Very nice. I've been thinking of doing this to a couple pieces of furniture too, but I've been too chicken. Black always seems so daunting kwim, but you've made it look great:)
