Kricket's Korner: Valentine's Monster Boxes

It has been awhile but it isn't Krista's fault it is mine. But I had to show you these cute Monster Valentine Boxes even if they are a little late you can save the idea for next year. Right?
I can't wait till my kids have to make Valentine boxes for school I am sure they will look something like this besides Krista said it was easy.
They found some boxes they had laying around the house. Cut a hole for the mouth. (or you can use a tissue box) Then they just covered them in tissue paper.
The D-Rex box was a weird shaped shoe box so they were able to just turn the top the other way and it was the open mouth.

Then they just used felt for the shapes and pipe cleaners and pom poms for the eyes.
I am kind of amazed at how different they are.
Super Cute!

DIY: Tool Heart Wreath

One project no longer under Construction!
Lets just say I will probably be finding red tool all over my house for a little while!
Also....I have 2 done on the Faux metal decor....They take a long time. But here is the wreath
Mandi is a genious! Right? It is so cute and so easy. Bend a wire hanger into a heart. Cut the tool into strips bundle them and tie on the tool. Add a bow if you want too... Also at the top we bent the hanger part to be used as the place to hang it. I love it!
Thanks again Mandi you are so creative!

DIY: Valentine's Conversation Blocks

Yesterday I had a craft day at my house and my 2 lovely friends Alyssa & Mandi came. We wanted to make our own Conversation Block hearts that we had seen here. We did ours a little differently but we think they turned out WONDERFUL. Considering the fact that we had 3 boys under the age of 2 and Kalex. Who was in fact very crafty himself.
It took us a but longer to finish than we had originally thought but we had a ton of fun and just for Mandi I have decided to be nice to you and not post the picture of us even though you look fantastic!
I finally got my blocks finished here they are.
Thanks girls

DIY: Valentine Heart Picture

These are the supplies I started with.. along with a glue gun and scissors
I originally got the tutorial from this blogI did mine a little differently. I didn't put in a foam board I just covered the cardboard with some black material. Then I cut out a heart and traced it with a pencil
It was actually pretty easy. They hardest part was getting the heart outline perfect. I also cut out the word love from felt and glued that on too. Here is the final project
What do you think?

DIY: Valentines

These are so cute. I originally got the idea here. But I did things a little bit differently. Here's my mess... You need: Felt, Hershey Kisses, glue gun, googly eyes, toothpicks, labels
Cut the felt into circles. I like a little bigger hat so I made mine a little different. Then you cut the circles into fourths.
then run a strip of glue along the edge and fold and hold so it looks like this
Then glue the hat on top of a Hershey Kiss. Then add 2 googly eyes. See how cute?
As cute as they are.. I thought they needed something a little more.
I drew a heart on the bottom to emphasize Valentines.. But that didn't work either.
This is what I came up with. I took some skinny labels and looked up Conversation Hearts and got some ideas. Then I wrote them pretty small on the label. I also took a toothpick and broke it in half.
The labels were nice because they were already sticky. But I wrapped the labels around half of a toothpick....So they look like this.
Then I glued the toothpick to the Hershey Kiss....Now they were done.. Aren't they cute?
I made gnome army so it seems...
They were super easy super quick and pretty inexpensive... The most expensive thing was the Chocolate. :)
What do you think?
